The name tells you what's inside. Picklestone150 is built around a 150-monme Aji stone — approximately 563 grams of genuine granite from the quarries of Mure, Kagawa Prefecture. This is the same stone used in Japan's Imperial palace gardens and the sculptures of Isamu Noguchi. Denser than glass, it draws moisture from vegetables with steady, natural pressure that no synthetic weight can replicate. Its natural coolness helps lock in the fresh flavor of your pickles through the night.

Between the stone and your vegetables sits the Ategi — a round disc of hinoki cypress that distributes the stone's weight evenly and prevents it from freezing the vegetables on direct contact. A small piece carrying the full logic of traditional pickle-making in its shape.
